Log 6
Dr. Violet North

You will never believe who solved the cypher on Snapdragon's old file. Apparently one of the staff members in tech has a relative that works on monitoring the rex Kronos, and since they haven't seen him around lately they took over the decoding project. There wasn't enough material for them to find the complete cypher, but they found enough to make a complete version of the file, which I've attached below.

---- SPECIMEN FILE: THE BLACK PRINCE ----

Name: "Black Prince" Medus

Site of Origin: Colchis

Parents Names: Medea, Aegeus

Parental Aggression: Highly aggressive, do not approach for any reason, avoid known territory at all costs.

Parental History and Specimen Notes:

When abandoned by her previous mate Jason, Medea killed her previous clutch, then focused on raising Medus after pairing with Aegeus.

Medea was going to kill Aegeus' son Theseus from an earlier batch with another female, but was chased away with Medus.

Medea and Medus were transferred to the Cerulean Islands to lessen damage to Colchis' ecosystem because Medea started overhunting while looking for a new territory.

Medea went off the radar while Medus was an adolescent and was never found again.

---- END FILE ----

The previous team's naming system is surprisingly accurate, especially considering the "Black Prince" title. It makes me wonder if they had a way to determine the final coloring of a Nycta when they're still hatchlings, or if it's just plain luck that he grew into the spook we know today. I wish I had photos of his parents so we could compare the genetic variables.

In any case I'm going to keep looking through our old records and see if I can find any other logs. I might just have to keep in contact with Kronos' team if there are any other encoded files I can dig up, I just hope that the rex and our nyctas don't meet up as well.
